Would you risk your life for your dog?

Jake the rat terrier was held in the jaws of a shark when Greg LeNoir jumped into the water to rescue his beloved pet.  Diving in like Super Man Greg rammed the shark with all his might. Not thinking of his own safety, but only that of his 14 pound pet dog.

The shark released its death grip on Jake, and the fearless little swimmer headed for the beach.  After a trip to local Animal Hospital Jake is recovering well with no apparent lasting effects of his Jaws-like ordeal.

Dr. Doolittle, as LeNoir is affectionately known by friends and family because of his animal rescue exploits, and his wife have no children.  So the thought of losing Jake to the jaws of the five foot shark was like the thought of losing a son – not an option.

The lucky 28-month-old Rat Terrier survives for a second time.  Initially rescued from an animal shelter, Jake enjoyed a daily swim at the Worldwide Sportsman’s Bayside Marina pier. Although a strong swimmer Jake was no match for the shark that almost swallowed him whole.

Now Jake sports an upside down smile of puncture wounds from the sharks teeth.  A small price to pay for finding out that his master would lay down his own life for the dog.

What sacrifice would you make for man’s best friend?
