George the Californian cat is returned thanks to his microchip.
This story wouldn’t be overly amazing were not for the fact that he left home 13.5 years ago!
Melinda Merman and Frank Walburg conducted a missing cat search to rival any police search when George went missing. Despite regularly contacting every animal shelter and veterinarian in the phone book by phone, in person, and by mail, George was not found.
Then out of the blue they receive a phone call from their local vet about a cat that was last seen in 1995. George had been trapped by the manager of mobile home park and the animal shelter found his microchip. By tracing the chip back to the vet and then back to Melinda and Frank a happy reunion was possible.
Despite being half his former self, quite literally half his weight, George still displayed his old characteristics.
From long time to a long distance cat recovery tale.
Misty, the cat from Florida, decided to head inland. Perhaps she knows something we don’t about the tidal situation?
Catching a lift inside a vehicle on a car transporter, Misty headed to Texas. Her escape was foiled when a mechanic from Buckalew Cheverolet popped the hood to check the new car and exposed the runaway.
A quick ID check was enough to find the lucky owner of Misty who picked her up from the car dealership.
